Too cute not to share

Emma's 4!
Emma was so thrilled with her butterfly cake. For about six months, she had been asking for a "violet cake". Incidentally, she also went through a "fuschia" stage. Her vocabulary is really cute sometimes! She has already announced that she wants a Tinkerbell cake next birthday (I don't think she quite realizes it's not for another year, but oh well).

Finally!
Rachel has been gradually learning to walk with the help of a physical therapist who comes over twice a month. She had gotten to the point where she'd take a couple of steps in between the couch and the coffee table, for example.
Then, this last week as she turned 19 months old...surprise!

The view from our front porch
Brent has a small hobby of taking pictures of the beautiful view we have of the mountains outside our front door. It reminds me that I need to look up from the sinkfull of dirty dishes more often and out the window right in front of me! We may not have sweeping views of the valley below, but I don't think I would trade the majesty and beauty of the mountains changing through the seasons right in front of me.
Second Grade Cowboy Program
Matthew and I had a bit of fun playing with some pictures. He loves this "cartoon" version of him with some classmates.Matthew did such a great job in his school program. He is naturally pretty shy on stage, but has learned that if he looks right at me and smiles, I'll give him a big smile back. That seems to keep him focused and smiling. Each class performed their own country dance. It was hilarious to watch the variety of enthusiasm the kids had for these dances, as well as the individual "styles" each one contributed.
